Flag: Chuck's new Flag I am all set to go! Check out my new flag, Amanda made it for me! It is hard to see how shiny it really is in the image.
A long time ago Chris said he wanted to ride bike down the mississippi, so I asked when he planned to do it and if I could come with. I hadn't been on any multi-day bike trips before, so this was all new to me. Finally Chris picked a date, and the planning began. We went to the Hostel Shoppe and I ordered a trike. That same weekend we went on a short 2 day bike trip from Hustler to Norwalk (about 30 miles) on upright bicycles. That was when I knew for sure i never wanted to ride an upright again, and that I had made a good choice in ordering my trike! To bad I didn't have it for that trip!

Car Repairs
Chuck, the radiator was a minor thing...overheating blew out the plug so you lost your coolant. New plug has been installed. I told them you wanted front shocks which also means an alignment. Also on the list was an oil change. They tell me that you need a new EGR...something to do with fuel and exhaust stuff...help make the car run better. Since Amanda will be driving to get you...figured we better get it fixed so that she doesn't breakdown. Total cost including labor will be about $840. I think that is reasonable. Should give you some peace of mind knowing your car is functioning well.
Hope you are taking some photos with your own camera.

Well, Chuck and Amanda had to stop in Baldwin, WI on there way to New Lisbon this afternoon. Seems Chuck needed to have his car serviced...radiator malfunctioned...overheated and caused the need for a visit to the local Chevy dealer. From there it was back to Hudson, via Amanda's Mom and her car to get Amanda's car so they could finish their trip to New Lisbon. I too was involved in the great car repair caper...I at least got a chance to give Chuck a hug and wish him well. I look forward to see what Chuck has to tell us about his trips beginning.

Questionable people
This is what happens when you hang out with questionable people. At one moment you are having a conversation, a few moments later you are committed to cycling across the country.

Yeah, that's right, Chuck committed to this trip having never even been on a 2-day ride. Who does that? Rog did the same. Maybe I am the one hanging out with questionable people.
Maybe it is a guy thing. The girls both toured with me many times before committing.
Girls are smarter than guys.
This proves it. Chuck & Roger will follow you any where. They are guys!! The girls know they need to test you out. Stay off the gravel roads this trip and they may just go with you again. If you put them through all the gravel like the Superior Trip, you may find yourself in BIG trouble this time. Just a thought, for you safety.
