Sorry for the late post, pictures to be added later.

Today was a rest day while we wait for Chris's parts to arrive at the post office in Babb. The day started out just wonderfully as the rain woke me at 1:30 dripping nicely through my tent...plunk right on the temple. It continued to rain until about 7:00 when I decided to give the bathroom a try. I returned to spend some time wiping up the puddles in the tent and trying to get some sleep.

I woke Katie up about 9:00 so we could catch breakfast before they closed. Chris promised he would help pay for a good breakfast for Katie and TJ so they would have energy to go hiking with us. As Katie started getting ready I saw something strange on the tent floor right next to where her head just was..."Chris there's a slug in the tent!" Yes you read correctly folks, somehow a slug found its way into the tent and was apparently sleeping soundly with Katie. Thankfully Chris removed the slimy fellow and we left for breakfast.

After breakfast we talked with one of the workers at the park that suggested we try the Iceberg Lake hiking trail. It would be a 10 mile round trip hike.

This trail was amazing. So many interesting plants, small animals, waterfalls, and SNOW! We hiked the last mile or so through the snow to get to the frozen lake. We climbed 1200 feet and it took us 6 hours to complete. We have so many beautiful pictures, but they will never do the park true justice.

At the conclusion of our hike we gathered at the restaurant and shared pizza. Boy were we all hungry. We finished two large pizzas!

Now we are showered up and off to bed hoping for good news from the post office tomorrow.

0 miles (1294 total)

That slug must have been female right?

A male slug never would have survived entering the "girls" tent. Katie, what did you name your new friend?
