This morning we woke to a freezing room. As we all were waking up Chris got up and checked the weather and started to find a faster route to the bike trail we got told about yesterday. We left the hotel about 10:15 this morning alittle later then we planned. It was suppose to be 70% chance of rain through out the day.
As we left we were lucky it wasn't raining yet and that we had a tailwind that gave us a average of 12.5 mph. About 10 miles into the day it started to rain. We all pulled our rain jackets out. After we all got our rain jackets on we watched the rain as it came pouring toward us, which then stopped about 50 yards in front of us. Another lucky moment of our day.
Lunch came around and we rolled into Rice, MN 31 miles from were we started today. We stopped and ate McDonalds because we wanted to finish the day before the rain started up again. It was cheap for Katie and I, but being that it was Chris's and Laura's anniversary he bought her a fruit smoothie with her meal, which he would have bought for her anyways. She seamed to enjoy it. As we all were finishing our meals this guy came up to us and started telling us to take a different route. The route he told us to take would have added 10-15 mile to our day and it was the original route that we had to take any ways. So we kept on Chris's route that he discovered.
Going through the Holiday gas station, we found a chuckwagon sandwich, which made Katie miss Chuck.
We kept on Chris's route it wasn't the flatest, but yet it wasn't the worst hills they were just long. 13 miles later we came to the bike trail. The bike trail was paved and was very nice to ride on. We came up to a bridge that was also very nice. It had a signature book for people to sign and put the date that you were there. The 10 miles we rode on the trial we came across ripples on the bike trail and a baby raccoon that tried to attack all of us. It scared the girls and i also think it scared Chris, but he doesn't like to admit it. As we came into Albandy, MN it started to rain. Luckly our hotel room we had booked was just around the corner. We were saved from the rain once again.
The weather limited our dinner to Subway, A&W, or DQ. We decided to eat at DQ and once again Katie i went cheap again. We all then went to the pool and hot tub after we got back from dinner. The pool was very comfortable because of it being the perfect warmth. Laura went in the pool for the first time this trip with Chris. The hot tub was nice, but was very hot and we all barely could handle it.
All together we had a great day and had a great tailwind all day hopefully tomorrow can be about the same. (HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CHRIS AND LAURA!!!!)

Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary Laura & Chris, Sorry I'm a day late. Love the "holding hand" picture.
Keep on Pedaling :)
Aren't they cute....
That's Katie & TJ holding hands. I'm waiting for the day when one pulls the other one down in an accidental crash. It won't be pretty.
Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary Laura & Chris!!!
Another Anniversary and another bike trip. I'm not sure, but I think Chris knows he can get away with this as long as he buys Laura either ice cream or fruit in some one form or another. Interesting idea. I wonder how many more years Chris will get away with this tactic? Hmmmmmm.................
Your adventure has had a lot of rain, but it seems you are all having a good time. That's all that matters.
Happy Trails to you...........................
To be honest, Heffel got
To be honest, Heffel got rather lucky with Laura. He could give her a wad of cash for their anniversary and she'd be thrilled.
Happy Anniversary, Chris and Laura!
Yes he did...
get lucky with Laura. And I'd be thrilled if Chris handed me a wad of cash too!!!
Hey Chris, Check your email please.....
I sent you an article about severe flooding in Minot, ND (displacing about a quarter of their population). If you are going through there, you may want to find out in advance how this could effect your route. FYI.
