We woke up at 5:00 to get an early start on our upcoming long day. The hotel staff at the Hampton Inn in Greenville even had breakfast ready a half hour earlier for us. They also let us take their "Breakfast to go bags" so we would have a snack for later in the morning.

Our first stop of the day was at Roy's Store located on Roy's Store Road. We had drinks and breakfast sandwiches, and were back on the road.

Katie and I spent some time leading the pack. We had a time with the wind behind us that we were going 15 mph without doing very much work. Boy is it nice to have some time with the wind not in our faces.

Here is a picture of Chuck being Chuck, sitting in his lazyboy sweating. This has become the only way to see Chuck! I've heard we are not getting enough pictures of Chuck on the site.

We stopped to take a break and eat our snacks from the hotel.

After turning onto the road on top of the levee, the interesting signs started...

We had several cattle guards to deal with. Since these can not be ridden over, it requires us to get off our bikes and push them across, wasting some time.

I got hit with my first flat tire of the trip. We were in a nice sunny, hot spot as well! Chuck was able to find the culprit, a "gator" got my tire (For those of you not up with the lingo, a piece of tire scrap on the side of the road)

We stopped for a snack at the Chotard Landing Cabins and Campground. It was a very small place, but had very nice people. They helped give us information about a bridge out in Vicksburg.

We stopped for dinner at a great restaurant called Wings of Fire. Our waitress was great! She made sure we all left with full water bottles and phone numbers for hotels coming up in town. We also got some great food.

As we closed in on Vicksburg, we "raised the roof" to celebrate our first century ride!!

As we approached town, we saw a hillside covered with Kudzu.

We finished the night getting the last two rooms at the Quality Inn. Katie was a little jittery from lack on texting and could not wait to get into room.

111 miles (1370 miles total)
