gps track file not working

If anyone has a solution, let me know. I download the .kml file. I then have to delete the first two characters of each line (usually just dashes and spaces) to get rid of the first error. After this I still get an error but it errors out further down the file:

Open of file "(path)/mrt_05.kml" failed: Parse error at line 6, column 51:
not well-formed (invalid token)
[OK]

Any ideas on how to fix this so I can see the riders' progress?

To greg.van on gps issue..........

if you are running Internet explorer................
right click on the link..........................
left click "save target as"........................
look at file name.....is it reading as mrt_05.xml ?....................if so change x to k..........then save to your desk top. open from there if you have google earth loaded on to your comp.

Microsoft is the issue changing the k to x. The guys walked me through this problem. If you are running Mozilla, I don't know what to do. Chucks mom is having problems w/ google earth while runnng Mozilla.

Hey Greg, just wondering who you are. Friend to someone on this trip? Admirer? Please share if you choose.

Thanks for the tip. Everything now works.

I work with Chuck in the same department/office at UWRF. I also do long distance bicycling and am cheering the group on.
